Sharing the Love and Hope of Jesus Christ with Children and Their Families throughout Eurasia and Israel

The Need:

Mission Eurasia serves children in 14 countries of Eurasia and Israel. These precious boys and girls come from a diverse mix of cultures with a wide variety of experiences. Some have known only the relentless horror of war. In Ukraine, according to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the war has forced more than 6 million Ukrainians to flee from their homes. Nearly a million have fled to neighboring Poland and more than 100,000 to Moldova. Within Ukraine, 3.7 million people have been internally displaced, most of them leaving the war zone for western Ukraine.
Throughout all of the countries served by Mission Eurasia, many children experience daily tragedies—hunger, violence, abuse, poverty, and broken families.
Some of the children served have grown up with a strong Christian influence, while others have grown up in the predominantly Muslim regions of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. Children living in rural, isolated, or secularized communities are unlikely to ever hear the gospel message or be introduced to the love of a Christian community.

Track Record of Success:

For the millions of children in the other countries of Eurasia and Israel served by Mission Eurasia, daily life is full of tragedies—hunger, violence, abuse, poverty, and broken families. Many children living in rural, isolated, or secularized communities are unlikely to ever hear the gospel message or be introduced to the love of a Christian community.

The Opportunity:

Led by Next Generation Christian leaders trained and equipped through Mission Eurasia's training programs, our transformative summer Bible camps are held throughout Eurasia and Israel, impacting thousands of children and youth each summer with the love and hope of Jesus. For many of these children, camp is the place where seeds of faith are first planted in their hearts and their relationships with the local church begins to blossom.

Camps range from day camps to weekend camps to weeklong camps to family camps. Through these camps, children experience a wholesome, balanced curriculum designed to meet their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Time is allotted for fun activities, fellowship, counseling, Bible study, and other Bible-centered activities. Children receive healthy, nutritious, regular meals. Each child also receives a blue Bible or Action Bible New Testament to help them begin their personal journey of faith in Jesus.

To meet the physical and emotional needs of children from Ukraine who have seen war firsthand, our leaders participate in Empower orientation sessions on trauma care, equipping them to provide counseling and other support. In addition, Mission Eurasia has partnered with COPEKIT to distribute their Core Skills Sets to these internally displaced and refugee children. These sets contain eight essential trauma coping skills, presented on five cards with a comprehensive training chart. By providing these valuable tools, we are equipping Ukrainian refugee children with the skills they need to navigate the challenges they face.

Children’s ministry remains an effective part of the local church’s evangelistic strategy. As a result of the acceptance and support the children in the camps receive, they are open to the gospel. Through children, their parents and relatives learn about Christ.
